Pizza Review
Detroit style. Homemade sauce. Tangy and refreshing. Chewy centre and great crisp crust. Cheesy with extra sauce on top. Excellent pie for under $20.
Pizza Review
Alright Frankie -> we at here-> 8 Mile Detroit Pizza (review time Jan 2nd -> 2021-> 3:30pm-ish-> 2nd review of the day ->)... The pizza spot is run out of the same location where Ooshee used to be, with the same tiny patio and commercial oven Their food has always been known for. Their Dough is proofed overnight in blue steel pans sourced from the United States in the traditional Detroit style. They're modeled after trays auto manufacturers used to use in what's known as Motor City. Little history lesson there -> all wrapped into one -> The cheese is a blend with different fat and moisture contents. After the usual Detroit fashion, toppings would go on last but in true ONE BITE fashion we only try the classic cheese pizza as everything one must know about a pie can be found out by reviewing the classic -> along with dollops of a sweet sauce of fresh Marzano tomatoes, tomato puree, tomato paste and house spices complimented with the fluffy, puffy crust that is covered in lots of cheese and has a nice crunchy "frico" (cheesy edge) with a concentrated cheese flavour in the crust of the classic that we ordered -> one bite everyone knows the rules -> reminded me a little bit of the Chicago deep dish style pizza meeting the commercial flavour of a (dare I say) some would call it Pizza Hut style Frankie -> I wouldn’t —> some would-> I wouldn’t -> some would-> they were generous with the mozzarella-> The sauce is where the issue was! It was not made in house and -> that would not have been so evident had they not put fresh little tomatoes on top of the pizza that tasted drastically different than the sauce it’s self -> they definitely lost a point for that-> The sauce ended up being a multi flavour experience because of the difference in taste -> against the tomato on top-> the undercarriage was fine for a deep dish-> not memorable though-> it didn’t flop -> it just kind of fell apart and we will chalk that up to the generosity of the cheese distribution -> it was cheesy -> if you like Chicago-ish deep dish greasy -> super cheesy -> thick meal time - border line fork and knife style pizza ? You may give this a 7.8 for us -> we bite it -> score it (1 to 10 / one bite / everyone knows the rules / bite it / score it -> 1 thru 10 -> here we go) this Pizza we give it a 6.4-> it’s really good -> we ate the entire thing and we will be back for more -> great little secret joint right off beaten path -> 6.4 (professional score) that’s a review!
