Pizza Review
Little flop, great flavor.
Pizza Review
Ordered a whole pie of their NY Style Pizza because of the rep on here. Was disappointed. I think I should’ve gotten the Margarita one instead just to compare to Mario’s Wood-Fired Neapolitan in Mahopac, NY. Why? So the problem with this pizza was it was undercooked in the center. Floppy to the point of slices collapsing on themselves. And yet there was a nice amount of char on the bottom, about exactly how much I like. Crust is thin and light but that’s about it. Not airy. Other than that? Sauce was watery and not that flavorful. Couldn’t taste much salt or any oregano or basil or additional seasoning. I think they advertise as using San Marzano tomatoes on this pizza but the pizza didn’t have that characteristic sweetness and tangy pop to them. Cheese was just your average shredded mozzarella. I’d guess skim milk due to the fact that it was not a greasy pizza. My girlfriend had a slice of mine but also ordered their Goat Cheese, Fig, Blueberry, Almonds, and Jam Pizza on a whim. Not my thing. But it was tastier in flavor than this. I don’t think she’d get it again though. Think she gave her’s a 7.0. And the NY Style a 6.0. And that’s about where I’d rate mine. I think I’d like a few of their other pizzas better. But I’m not that inspired to go back. They’re not bad. I honestly think you go here for their specialty pizzas with the topping combos you’re interested in. But I judge places by their plain (or Neapolitan style) and it doesn’t really stand out. Bonus: Even though I didn’t care for dessert pizza, the Blueberry and Fig gets a 6.5. Didn’t really taste the tangy flavor of the goat cheese, some of it didn’t even melt. It’s a pizza your quirky friend gets because it looks interesting on paper. But then you’re one and done.
