Aiello's Pizza Squirrel Hill

I ate it before I could get a photo but I got a slice of their margherita pie. Decent leopard spotting on the bottom, pretty much zero flop, and a phenomenal airy crust. Loses some points for the sauce (or lack thereof). If there was a sauce, I couldn’t really taste it other than the tomato slices they throw in there. Definitely a cheese forward slice. Not too much, not too little, with a nice dusting of parm that is much needed without a strong sauce. Overall it’s a pretty unique slice and I’d say it’s worth a trip.

Cheesy, doughy. Who said this pizza is thin? I might enjoy it in the middle of a blizzard when it’s 20° out.

Cheese is weird. Like provolone is in it. Sauce isn’t great.

Wait to take a slice. If you take it when it first come out the cheese come off so heads up. Crust is pretty good. Not a lot of flop. Sauce isn’t sweet. Almost smoky. Over very good. I got a pepperoni which wasn’t too spicy. Great pizza

My uncle tried Mineo’s and Aiello’s pizza to see who was better. Turns out neither pie is all that great. THE GOOD The dough was probably the best part of this pie. I’ve had few pizza places that dough tasted so fresh it was like eating at a bakery. The sauce was also much better than Mineo’s. THE BAD I didn’t really care much for the cheese. It looks so similar to Mineo’s cheese so I’m not sure what went wrong here. The pepperoni also isn’t that great. Overall these places are so similar. My major issue is look at my damn pie. Lol Also Aiello’s is significantly cleaner inside than its competitor.

cheese was ok Pepperoni was good. Wasnt a huge fan of the sauce. Give it a try your yourself. Note: the inside of this place is really nice!

White pizza super fresh 🤌🤌

Rustic crust texture and flavor. Excellent. Sweeter sauce. Cheese sauce ratio even. Well balanced. Impressed

Thin, crispy, light flop, crunch on each bite, and great sauce flavor. One of the best joints in the Burgh, and slices are almost as good as whole pies. Ask for a 1919 with your order, best root beer you can’t find anywhere else in the city.

Good, Mineo’s is next.

You have to let it cool a minute or two before eating. There is so much more flavor once it’s cooled slightly. Also we got pepperoni and bacon which is an underrated topping combo.

Amazing pizza! Sweet sauce, crisp crust, delicious cheese. Highly recommended.
