Ala Roma Pizzeria & Pub

I’m a nostalgic person to a fault, I grew up in Fond du Lac and had Ala Roma on a regular basis. Came here for the first time in years today fully expecting to let that nostalgic feeling wash over me and give it an enthusiastic 9.5 or something equally silly. The first few bites - cheese, sausage, sauce, filled with joy as I beamed at my wife who was here with less hope in her heart. And then… the crust. It leaves something to be desired in a significant way, devoid of flavor, which was surprising and underwhelmed me. Good service, location, nothing else negative else to say. Still enjoyed being back and again those first few bites of each slice but the crust brought me back to reality.

Toppings are great. Crust is a bit flavorless and too thick around the edges - unsure if it wants to be thin or thick crust.

Great sauce, ok cheese, nothing special about this tavern cut style pizza. It’s worth eating over Pizza Hut, but pass on it otherwise.

Ordered thin crust but pretty heavy and not much crisp. Lots of cheese and not much sauce which was solid. Good football pizza

Cheese is quite chewy, a good Wisconsin cheesy chew though. The sauce is alright. The crust is just above “paper thin” for the thin crust. I ordered the old #1(cheese). It reminds me of “cheese bread day” during the school lunch days.
