Pizza Review
Dave would like this pizza. Crispy, no flop and a little grease. Good slice
Pizza Review
Alright after a short stint on the IR with a Bug I'm back on the Pizza Grind. ___ So first off let me say getting this Pizza was a fucking mess. I've been eating "Albert's" Pizza for the past 20+ years and it's a Suffolk county institution. I walked in like a pro and ordered their family special and the guy behind the counter tells me this isn't Albert's anymore. It's now called "Erwin's" but everything is the same but they don't offer the family special. Even though the sign out front still says Albert's..... So I ordered the usual pie and while waiting the dude is answering the phone still saying it's "Albert's" but it's really "Erwin's" and the box still says "Albert's".... I dunno it's fucking chaos though. I almost fried my brain ordering this thing ____ Onto the Pizza. Albert's is known for an upside down square pizza and that's their jam. Anyone ordering anything else has lost their mind and immediately shows they are a rookie in the game. The highlight is generally the sauce which always has a nice tang and I dunno if it's because my noodle was fried but it just wasn't the same. It tasted bland even when I went in for a second slice that was covered it was still bland. It lacked the real tang Albert's was known for. The cheese ratio was great and really helped it along. The overall taste of the crust was bland like the sauce but overall had great crunch/char. I enjoy this pizza because even for a square pie which is usually heavy in filling I feel like I can go toe to toe with the bagel boss guy after eating this. I can slam 5 slices and be good. That quality is still there. ____ Def a step down from what I'm used to and I prob won't go out of my way to eat it again at this location. It's not bad pizza by any standards but it's just unfamiliar in the worst way. A little bit of chaos has led to the Devil's Score 6.6
