Angelo's Pizza Downers Grove

Have not had this pizza in a while and not sure why because first bite really the spot. A little on the greasy side, I belive they also put oregano on it because it has a little different but good taste. Crust was nice and thin with good crispy at the edges. If in the area definitely worth considering.

Great pie. Good consistency with the mozzarella, the crust was the right firmness for a square pie (not my go-to but I was traveling). Only issue was with the sauce, could have had more and I prefer a sweeter marinara on my pizza. But it actually taste best with out any additional table toppings (parm and/or oregano). Definitely recommend. Cheese: 8, Crust: 8, Sauce: 6.

Good crust on the edges. Not as crispy towards the middle. Very thin. I tend to like a little more substance. I've had better and I've had worse. Good local pie Not worth the 40 minute drive

I went into Angelo's blindly and I was not disappointed! The pizza had a great taste a nice, light, flavorful sauce, flaky, and yet crispy crust and was an overall excellent pizza! It was actually floppy and crispy at the same time (probably should've let it cool longer). I didn't dine in so I can't judge the restaurant itself. It was one of the best pizzas I've had in awhile. I was stumped between a 7.9 and an 8.1 because I didn't want to give it the amateur score of an 8 plus I was in a good mood so here we are at an 8.1! I personally had a thin crust pizza so I'm not sure if they do a deeper, more traditional Chicago deep dish. It's worth driving for if it's not too far out of the way. I'd definitely recommend it if you're in the area!

Alright Frankie, we got ourselves a lie here. This pizza is some of the best pizza I’ve had around this area. No flop, ultra thing crust, sweet sauce, sold cheese. This right here is true chicago thin crust, As I consume this pizza the bears are currently losing and trubisky is sucking ass but I don’t even mind because this pizza is so good.

Love coming here with my family. Great thin crust pizza with just enough sauce. Owners are very nice and friendly. Reminds me of my grandfathers pizza when they had their restaurant 💚❤️💯

Great thin crust. Reminds me of a chicago classic Vito and nicks. Pizza melts in your mouth with a light sauce. I’m happy to have tried here

After last night’s poor experience in the city, I had to get redemption today in the suburbs. We got Angelo’s and it did not disappoint. This place is located in the heart of downtown Downer’s Grove, so you know it has to be good to survive, especially that two popular chains are nearby. I got the thin crust and it leaned heavily toward super thin and crunchy tavern style. What makes this pizza is the sauce. It is more savory, but light and flavorful. Also, the sausage really stood out to add a nice texture to the slice with a juicy and Italian seasoned sweetness to the bite. The slices aren’t too filling, so err on the sign of caution and order a size up, but prices are pretty reasonable. I’m definitely going to add Angelo’s to the rotation. Bonus: they have a pretty nice patio space that I’ll be checking out next summer when the weather changes.
