Found myself in Wilkes Barre and always wanted to come try the pizza in the area. They have a couple different styles around here that arent really found anywhere else. You got this thin pie with the sauce on top served at Angeloâs Pizzeria and Gerryâs (Brothers) and then you got a bunch of pizzerias slinging tray pizza in Old Forge which iâll probably try tomorrow. As for Angeloâs, i read a lot of reviews, and the consensus was that Dave fucked up when he didnt opt for their âSweet Sauceâ, so thats what i decided to get. It was a really good pie. Thin, crispy, and crackely crust with a nice amount of character. The ratios of dough, cheese, and sauce, were spot on for me. The pie wasnt greasy at all. It had zero flop, and a nice amount of salt to the cheese. The outer crust was super light and cracker-like. The only thing iâd do different the next time, is get the regular sauce. It was good, but a little sweet for my liking. It was so sweet that it almost tasted like a dessert pizza. In Daveâs review, he said that the regular sauce was pretty sweet, and that he couldnt imagine how sweet the âsweet sauceâ must be. I should of took the hint and got the regular sauce. I do tend to like a slightly sweet sauce, but not so sweet that it tastes like straight sugar. Wish i was in town longer and had time to try all the spots!
