Pizza Review
Ok so i’ve been contemplating on this score for far too long, and i’m just going to have to get it over with. I really couldn’t decide, 8.9 or 9.1?!?! Fuck it Frankie, rookie score. The dough here is amazing. The best crisp i have ever had. Light and flakey with the most perfect charring on the bottom. As for the cheese, it was great. Slightly stringy, not rubbery, not greasy, perfect cook on it where you get those bubbly brown crispy spots that i like. The sauce was baller. Very fresh and simple tasting with a good amount of tang and very little sweetness. Not overpowered with italian herbs in the sauce, just quality tomato sauce that tasted as it should, like tomato! I love having badil thrown on top of the pie. Instantly boosts the score a bit. Now a score in the 9’s this late in my pizza game is nothing to fuck with. This is a killer spot for pizza and you’re an idiot if you dont try this place if youre looking for great pizza in Philly. Rumor has it they have a great Cheesesteak too, one if the best in the city. P.S. to my buddy Dan, In order to rate this i had to think back on that fresh Brooklyn Pie we got from La Famosa that time, the one we ate on the tailgate in the parking lot after work. I rated that slice an 8.7, but i think i low-balled it now that i’ve eaten at so many spots. Really think it deserved an 8.9 now. This was better than that parking lot pie tonight i think, but not by much. I miss that place.
