Pizza Review
ANOTHER TIKTOK MARKETING SCAM. Do NOT fall for Apollonia's. I showed up at 4:45 pm on a Wednesday, 15 minutes before they opened at 5:00 pm (5176 Wilshire Blvd). I had already placed my online order for a Margherita pie so I could be first in line and grab it quick. I finally walked out with the pizza at 6:10 pm. One hour and twenty-five minutes for a single pie. No chairs. No benches. No place to sit. Strictly takeout. You just stand there in a cramped little room while the staff gives you the "why are you even here" stare. They charged me a mandatory 16% "service fee" (they call it a tip) even though nobody served me, nobody smiled, nobody said a single word the entire time. When I finally got my pie, zero apology, zero "sorry about the wait," zero anything. They literally did not give a shit. And the pizza? It's... fine. A very average New York-style slice. Nothing special, nothing worth the hype. I'd give the Margherita a 6.5/10 on a good day. The "service" gets a 1/10 because it doesn't exist. This place is the textbook definition of all marketing, zero substance. Heavy rotation on TikTok, Barstool, "best pizza in LA" lists -- they clearly spent every dollar on ads and branding instead of hiring enough people or building a system that can actually serve customers. Meanwhile you're paying $50 for one pie, forced to tip 16% for nothing, and treated like an inconvenience. Los Angeles is full of these right now -- places that get blown up on social media until the reality can't keep up. Apollonia's is just the latest one. Save your money and your time. There are literally hundreds of better pizzas in this city that won't waste an hour+ of your evening and then charge you extra for the privilege of being ignored. Skip this place. Hard.
