pizzavore
Cheese pizza, 6:30pm on a Saturday, $6.25
Pros: Crust has a little crispy crunch, pie is well sauced and the price is good
Cons: Pizza isn't as thin as I was hoping or expecting based on it previously being called a bar pie. I wouldn't quite call it Greek style either, I'd equate it quite honestly to Little Caesars texture. If Little Caesars never hit the big time and slung little pizzas out of a single location, this is what you'd get. A bit better than a chain pizza but still resembling the mass production taste and quality.
Verdict: This place has a long, storied history from what I've gathered but the style of pizza isn't what I'm in the market for. It has a soft, doughy texture that only gets real good at the crust. I was hoping for something like they have at Brewport nearby and almost regret not going back there again for dinner while in town, but I have to see what's out there. This isn't bad pizza but it's not incredible either.
