Aurelio's Pizza

This was my wife’s Go-To when she was growing up. She introduced me to it and it’s a necessity whenever we’re in town! This is the OG location, but the one in Addison also rules!

Dave was right. Lots of cheese but I loved the taste and the sauce is great. Kind of heavy…but great taste.

While I do agree with Dave that its unique/acquired taste, I don’t get the french onion soup comparison. I grew up on aurelio’s tho so I guess that could be why. Its often ordered at family get togethers and I always look forward to the crispy pub style crust and the savory/sweet sauce.

Grew up eating Aurelio’s Pizza… my mom remembers when Joe was in another location and just had picnic tables… Love this place, delicious!!!

The Boy says 6.7 and I’m going 7.2. Although if I was judging his side, I would have went lower. Cheese curds were really good!

Unique and good. Better when dining in. Ordering online doesn’t allow for ordering well done.

Drove here from Indiana . We have Aurelio’s near home but none are up to this caliber. Ask to have your thin crust cooked in the old oven .

Good sauce, and crust was crispy. Overall good pizza

This pizza is so good, it should be illegal. Buttery crust, sweet sauce, salty cheese. A perfect combination. My all time favorite pizza in Chicago is Vito and Nick’s on 84th and Pulaski but this pizza is right up there, if not better. I’m sure Portnoy is too scared to come to the southside to try Chicago’s real pizza: thin crust cut into squares and triangles. He’ll just stay downtown and eat deep dish tourist bullshit. I gave this a 9.5 because Portnoy gave John’s of Bleeker a 9.3 and this is easily better. I would have given it a low 8. I had it when I was in NYC several years ago. Portnoy, you need to come to get real Chicago pizza if you claim to be a pizza tasting expert.
