Avalon Downtown Pizzeria

First of all as soon as you walk in the smell takes you back to a wonderful time of being a kid entering a pizza shop of which you'll never forget. Service was great vibes were good but unfortunately the pizza lacked flavor. May have just been the white pizza I got but it was not great.

My wife favorite since she can remember. Thick style crust, sauce was sweet, lots of cheese and cooked to perfection

The pizza was decent. It had top much cheese and the crust was low on flavor. The sauce was great, and the crisp on the bottom of the crust was great.

2 thick I like a thin slice Sauce is Too Sweet Cheese was thick but like thicc in a good way Cheese kept falling off and you could tell the cooking effort was mid especially cause they served it to me in about .4 seconds

Average, solid Youngstown style pie. Very thick. Sweet sauce and good crust. Nothing special but you could do worse.

Look idk if dave was just jet lagged when he reviewed this. Maybe the owner had a gun to his head but anything over a 5.1 for this pizza and I question your decisions in life. PASS

Tried Avalon out today.. here my review: Crust: Thick, bland Cheese: Meh Sauce: Sweet, had a green pepper taste to it, not good Hard to find a pizza I don’t like, this is one I won’t get again.

Sweet sauce! A little thicker than I like but the texture and sweet sauce combine to make a great pizza!

Very different type of pizza. The crust is the saving grace. Very soft and fluffy with a ton of crisp on the bottom. Came out nice and hot but the service was terrible. Only 2 tables sat and it still took 20 mins just to place an order.

Perfect amount of cheese, sweet sauce (ever so slightly too much), and a solid crisp to the fluffy effervescent crust. Definitely recommend.

Sweet sauce and lots of cheese. Thicc and rich crust. Probably some of the best Youngstown can offer.

Overall a good pie with a fluffy light crust and good amount of cheese. I like the sauce but its missing the snap I look for.

If you put sugar in your sauce don't talk to me. Good crunch, good cheese. Be well.

Very nice crunch, little to no flop, sauce is nice and sweet like a southern grandma, and the workers are real nice. Probably going to be the main pizza spot for me.

Cool Youngstown pizza place. Took about 30min to get a small pie on a Saturday. Cheese slid off in one bite, and the sauce is wayyyyy sweet. Crust saved the day a bit. Decent, but too sweet for me

If you want pizza in Youngstown, this is hands down the place to go. Great pizza, great people. Highly recommend the brier hill.
