First time eating Chicago deep dish pizza. So I have nothing exactly like it to compare to give I’m a New York round, thin pie guy I’m whole life.
It’s…not as over the top as I thought. I can take or leave Sicilian and Detroit style pizzas or any with thicker crust. But I actually like how Chicago deep dish leans all the way into that.
It’s not as ooey/gooey cheesy as I thought. My friend got this spinach, pepperoni, and cheese pie. It came out like a quiche.
Anyway, the tomatoes had a strong almost red wine like flavor up them. Went well with the flaky but not too buttery crust. It wasn’t gooing with mozzarella (I like that) and the parmesan on top gives a nice salty finish to it.
I can’t confidently say this is the best spot or one of the better spots for deep dish but it’s good.
