Very thin. There is a flop. But so, so good. Score speaks for itself.

Maybe it was because this was my fifth pizza place of the day, or maybe it was because bar is a step below the other New Haven options, but Bar didn't live up to the hype. I went with a large half cheese half pepperoni, and the pizza was absolutely gigantic but extremely thin. It had a nice crispy crust, but was way too thin for my liking. It also tasted much too strongly of Parmesan cheese. If thin crust is your style then you might give this a higher score than I did. They had a mashed potato specialty that it seemed that everyone was getting, so that might be worth looking into.

Outstanding thin crust. Perfect sauce and cheese balance…average score needs to be in the 8s.

Worth traveling to, great atmosphere, bar style pizza, cheese pizza is the way to go some say the mash potato pie is better but it’s a toss up… thin pizza, crunchy, great cheese and sauce, no flop

Not as charred as Sally’s or Pepe’s. The cheese has remarkable flavor. Maybe more flavor in the dough would catapult this to the top. Louis Lunch across the street tempts one to have a burger after.

Incredibly thin & light, literally a bar pie. Not nearly as crispy as I anticipated…very floury around the crust and underneath, softish & floppy. Surprisingly dry pie, lacking moisture, but relatively low grease. Extremely tight cheese with limited sauce, produces a kind of “Cheez-its” flavor that I’ve experienced with similar pizza. The pie lacks that true pizza taste and could use some zip & zest. Not sure why, but New Haven & Connecticut in general slice their pies in a weird fashion. Not that it affects the taste, but it definitely throws the brain off. Overall, this is solid bar/drunk pizza, worth a try if you’re in the area but not a trip from long distances. It’s a cool place with a nice staff that makes terrific shareable bar pies but this pizza is not even in the discussion with the other New Haven big guns.

Frequently not included in the best apizza of New Haven debate, but I think it’s right up there with the best of them. Thin, crispy, great sauce and cheese.
