Pizza Review
Incredibly thin & light, literally a bar pie. Not nearly as crispy as I anticipated…very floury around the crust and underneath, softish & floppy. Surprisingly dry pie, lacking moisture, but relatively low grease. Extremely tight cheese with limited sauce, produces a kind of “Cheez-its” flavor that I’ve experienced with similar pizza. The pie lacks that true pizza taste and could use some zip & zest. Not sure why, but New Haven & Connecticut in general slice their pies in a weird fashion. Not that it affects the taste, but it definitely throws the brain off. Overall, this is solid bar/drunk pizza, worth a try if you’re in the area but not a trip from long distances. It’s a cool place with a nice staff that makes terrific shareable bar pies but this pizza is not even in the discussion with the other New Haven big guns.
