Pizza Review
Bartoli's is the best spot in Chicago if you're unsure whether to get deep dish or thin crust. Their deep dish is probably my number 2 (behind Pequod's) and their thin crust is arguably just as good as any of the other big names around town. I will edit next time I get their deep dish, but today I had the thin crust. The crust is crispy around the edges like a saltine cracker then is firm once it moves toward the center. It is cooked perfectly. The sauce is light and savory with small pieces of tomato; you can taste the quality of its house made recipe. The cheese isn't overly distributed which allows flavors from the sauce and toppings to cook to the top of the cheese. Each bite gets a great flavor combination of all the ingredients where nothing overshadows anything else. The sausage is juicy with the texture that it freshly made for each pizza. The pepperoni isn't overly salty or spicy, but is substantial flavor. Needless the say, Bartoli's gets my vote for best all around taste for pizza across its different types. Prompt delivery and average pricing for this quality? What more can you ask for?
