Pizza Review
Review 190 I believe. Tomato pie, not cheese pizza. Doesn’t knock my socks off. For starters, the sauce on a tomato pie is supposed to be the star of the show and this has an awful lot of cheese. Tomato chunks are fresh but they don’t jump out as exceptional. The cheese really doesn’t make a statement. It is void of flavor. The crust might be slightly above average. A bit too much flop for a tiny pie but not horrible. In the end, it’s pretty good but doesn’t warrant a trip unless you’re close. In the words of Albert Einstein, scientist superstar, pizza lover and Princeton NJ resident who frequented the Trenton area pizza shops back in the day, “The objective, such as sauce/cheese/dough ratios; and the subjective, such as taste; when combined, allow us to thoughtfully search for the sublime, wonderful, perfect combination of ingredients that makes for our favorite pizza, which is a lifelong quest.” This tomato pie, my friends, is not perfect, or even close. Thus, our quest continues, as we take aim at the rare air associated with 200 reviews, which is just on the horizon. Happy hunting.
