Large slices is the gimmick. Lots of these pizzerias in Virginia. Cool place with friendly staff. Crust very pale with hardly no charring. No color on the undercarriage. Needs more sauce. Good taste to the cheese. Not sure if pizza size leads to crust issues or not. Little more time in the oven would help a lot.

Do not waste your time at Shenandoah Taphouse. This place while not in the great category it is real pizza. Crust has really really good texture and taste. Cheese is chewy but not horrible. Needs more sauce and if the cooked it on the stone not the screen I’d put this on the 8+ level. That’s a New Yorker’s opinion.

Benny Stivale’s has a nice location, and the decor is great. However, the pizza is not nearly as nice as the building. It’s partner, Benny Sorrentino’s, has slightly smaller pieces, and the size makes it difficult to get the quantity of of pizza you want, and you have to take lots home. The cheese is very overpowering, and the crust is stale flavored and tasteless. When I accidentally tore off a small patch of my cheese, the sauce was barely there. As nice as the people and place are, I must give this pizza a near 7.0
