Brooklyn South Pizza

Stopped in because it seems to have a loyal local following. Unfortunately, it just wasn’t my style of pizza. The regular cheese pizza had too much flop, mainly because the sauce-to-cheese ratio was off. The sauce was thick and, unless I’m mistaken, tasted like a cooked sauce rather than a fresh tomato sauce. That heavier sauce made the cheese slide right off the crust, and even the kids weren’t fans. I was recently in NYC and it did not remind me of NY pizza. I also tried the Sicilian since it’s usually my favorite style. I’d still land at a 3.7. It had several issues that kept it from coming together, and overall it just didn’t deliver the texture and flavor I look for in a good Sicilian. I can see why some people enjoy it, but it wasn’t for me.
