Pizzeria claims direct lineage in Patsy’s / Grimaldi’s tree. Impressive coal oven. Pizza is closer to Margherita / Naples style than NY style, but not precisely. Excellent sauce, nice puddles of mozzarella. Good chew. Would have expected a bit more crunch and a bit less flop. A very, very good pie.

With family ties going back to Patsys of Harlem Brooklyn brick oven sure delivers an incredible pie. The coal oven turns out a damn flavorful pie that I think dated back to the 90s. The crust has char, flavor from all the pies before it, airy and fluffyness like that of a top Sicilian while still being somewhat on the thinner side. There’s a bit of flop as this is not the lightest pie with an abundance of cheese and sauce. First the cheese. Freshly made every day there’s a ton of it melted onto the pie and man is it good but the real standout of this pizza is the sauce and grated cheese. The sauce tastes so fresh, tangy and hints of garlic. There’s grated cheese and hints of chopped basil to compliment it but it is so damn good. I put away 6 slices like that but eat it quick as the pie cools off rather fast. For sure this is a pie you want to sit down and eat as it’s a great spot to enjoy inside with very friendly and great staff. Cash only also bumps it up a bit for me. To me this is a better than Grimaldi’s. Yea I said it. Great way to end the year:)

Very good pizza. A little doughy in the crust area. Definitely recommend it tho!

Overall great pizza - was kinda hoping to grab a slice and go, but this is more like a sit down restaurant then a pizza parlor. Great service too.

Killer home made mozzarella, great tangy sauce, rest undercarriage. Faulty rating by Dave.

It was tasty, would have liked it cooked a little more. Very busy place, were pumping out a lot of pizza.

I’m going to take off a point here from Dave. Crust is very good but the sauce and cheese is nothing to write home about. Solid slice overall.

Great pizza. The sauce and cheese and to die for. Definitely would recommend.

You can tell they only use the highest quality ingredients. Out of the 50 pizza places that I’ve had in NJ, this is my favorite place.

I was happy coming here cause of Daves review however the pizza was not that good. My daughter ests at least 2 slices and today she had only one. Service was friendly and the restaurant looks old school. If you live nearby and hungry cool but not worth the drive.

Happy national pizza day! Definitely will go to try it in stores to have it hotter

Really good... crust could’ve been a little crispier, but it was still delicious. They don’t sell slices, only pies. The sauce reminded me of Pizza Town.

Delicious sauce with a subtle but crisp crunch. Love the char from this oven. The crispy pepperoni cups are my go to topping here.

A descendant of Patsy’s in Harlem and Grimaldi’s in Brooklyn, this joint uses the same coal-burning brick ovens set to 1,000° the same way they did in the 1930s. Despite cooking at that insanely high temperature, the pizza is still surprisingly soft & doughy with virtually no crisp. The dough is very similar to a zeppole in texture and taste, which is not a bad thing, it’s just not crispy. Essentially a Margherita style pie, the ingredients are outstanding. Deliciously sweet & tangy sauce with plenty of zip rests atop exquisitely fresh house-made whole milk mozzarella in kind of an upside down pie. Super fresh, melty & creamy, this is some of the tastiest cheese you’ll ever find on a pizza. Overall, this is right on par with Grimaldi’s pies, which has basically become an upscale chain pizzeria since being franchised. The lack of crisp & relative softness of the dough is really the only thing holding this pizza back from reaching the 9s. I’ll order well-done next time and see if that changes things. But this is as close to authentic Brooklyn pizza as NJ gets.
