Brooklyn's Brick Oven Pizzeria

Stop 1 on this NJ trip! Solid, great dough, sauce was fantastic.

Was okay. They had a great sauce and some fresh cheese. But sauce was star the show.

“Mmmmm yum.” Something that has never been said at this establishment. Maybe brooklyn’s brick oven was not hot enough because that was straight dough. “Well that wasn’t too good but at least they served the pie in a box like every other pizza place on the planet” another thing that no one has ever said here. The pizza came on a circular cardboard tray and in a bag. “Well at least we can use the cardboard tray as a frisbee after we’re done” sadly, this also cannot be said. The cardboard was quite flimsy and all it took was a small gust of wind to take it down. Overall not a tantalizing experience. #7yearstograduate

This is my favorite pizzeria in northern NJ. Worth driving to if you’re in the area.

Not crisp. Believe me the looks are deceiving. It is charred in the brick oven but doughy and sauce make it floppy. And the sauce tasted uncooked. They should remove “Brooklyn” from the name. The entire borough of Brooklyn should sue them.

I’m an out of towner staying nearby to watch the Yankees, so I had to see what was nearby. This one stood out, and I can see why. The sauce, the cheese, and the basil were all perfect. The crust was crispy, the undercarriage firm, and of course there was no floppage. This joint is off the heazy. Not to mention the cool ass building that looks like a brick oven. Bring cash.

Solid 8 pizza. Some flop but delicious.

With family ties going back to Patsys of Harlem Brooklyn brick oven sure delivers an incredible pie. The coal oven turns out a damn flavorful pie that I think dated back to the 90s. The crust has char, flavor from all the pies before it, airy and fluffyness like that of a top Sicilian while still being somewhat on the thinner side. There’s a bit of flop as this is not the lightest pie with an abundance of cheese and sauce. First the cheese. Freshly made every day there’s a ton of it melted onto the pie and man is it good but the real standout of this pizza is the sauce and grated cheese. The sauce tastes so fresh, tangy and hints of garlic. There’s grated cheese and hints of chopped basil to compliment it but it is so damn good. I put away 6 slices like that but eat it quick as the pie cools off rather fast. For sure this is a pie you want to sit down and eat as it’s a great spot to enjoy inside with very friendly and great staff. Cash only also bumps it up a bit for me. To me this is a better than Grimaldi’s. Yea I said it. Great way to end the year:)

Very good pizza. A little doughy in the crust area. Definitely recommend it tho!

Overall great pizza - was kinda hoping to grab a slice and go, but this is more like a sit down restaurant then a pizza parlor. Great service too.

Crust was excellent! Cheese and sauce was very good and pizza was out in minutes overall pretty good

I’m going to take off a point here from Dave. Crust is very good but the sauce and cheese is nothing to write home about. Solid slice overall.
