Delicious sauce with a subtle but crisp crunch. Love the char from this oven. The crispy pepperoni cups are my go to topping here.

A descendant of Patsy’s in Harlem and Grimaldi’s in Brooklyn, this joint uses the same coal-burning brick ovens set to 1,000° the same way they did in the 1930s. Despite cooking at that insanely high temperature, the pizza is still surprisingly soft & doughy with virtually no crisp. The dough is very similar to a zeppole in texture and taste, which is not a bad thing, it’s just not crispy. Essentially a Margherita style pie, the ingredients are outstanding. Deliciously sweet & tangy sauce with plenty of zip rests atop exquisitely fresh house-made whole milk mozzarella in kind of an upside down pie. Super fresh, melty & creamy, this is some of the tastiest cheese you’ll ever find on a pizza. Overall, this is right on par with Grimaldi’s pies, which has basically become an upscale chain pizzeria since being franchised. The lack of crisp & relative softness of the dough is really the only thing holding this pizza back from reaching the 9s. I’ll order well-done next time and see if that changes things. But this is as close to authentic Brooklyn pizza as NJ gets.

Good amount of sauce and chesse nice and tasty and crunchy not your typical chesse pie because it’s a margarita pie

Zeke back at it. Tangy sauce, definitely the best part of the pie. Crust much to be desired. Good crusty top but the rest was doughy. Ingredients are definitely there, so I respect it. It barely gets out of the 6’s, but it’s not bad.

This is really, really good pizza. Worth going out of the way to try. Ingredients tasted fresh and place was nice inside.

Too much bread, a little heavy, and the sauce lacks a distinctive taste. If it was thinner with a touch of flavor (garlic?) the entire experience would have been more in line with Pres’ review. Maybe in the 8’s.

My most favorite pizza EVER. The crust is perfect. The sauce is tasty. The cheese is exquisite. The best pizza in the tri-state area.

Crust and cheese were amazing, the sauce could have a little more zing, but overall still great pizza

Very good pizza, they only serve margarita style pizza. All of ingredients seem very fresh. If your in the area it's a good place to grab a pie.

Cooled off pretty fast but it was very good. Sauce hit different. Cheese was a little overbearing at times. Crust was great.

Excellent Pizza. Very tasty sauce. Fresh Mozzarella Cheese. Dough tasted great. Only complaint it was too doughy.

Delicious. Love the ingredients. Sauce flavor is great, it isn’t too sweet or robust. Consistency is key and this place has it. Awesome mozzarella cheese taste (very fresh) and my crust had good crunch once the pie settled. Initially right out of the oven, the pie is soft but barely any flop and if you know anything about this style pizza, you know why...would never mind stopping by here although it’s pricy for pizza.

Great sauce! Fresh mozzarella cheese! Basil! crust! This is my kind of pizza! More of a margarita type! Such a good slice franky!!!!

Pizzeria claims direct lineage in Patsy’s / Grimaldi’s tree. Impressive coal oven. Pizza is closer to Margherita / Naples style than NY style, but not precisely. Excellent sauce, nice puddles of mozzarella. Good chew. Would have expected a bit more crunch and a bit less flop. A very, very good pie.

Fresh is an understatement. Just a solid cheese and tomato pie. Overall awesome taste with great crust. Only thing I would like more of, if anything, is some crunch and less flop. If it was little more on the crispy side, which I might request next time, score would above 9, for sure. That’s just me nitpicking, though. Regardless, this place is a regular for me and is worth traveling to.

Their plain is much more of a margherita or tomato pie than cheese. That being said, not much flop, mozz is fresh, and sauce is light. One of the best in the Bergen County area!

Perfect crust, tangy tomato sauce, homemade mozzarella, coal fired....high end NJ pizza.

Updating prior (personal pie) review for this standard and slightly more amazing Large Pie. Same tender dough and crispy crust. But just look at that perfect char! Good sauce / cheese ratio. Uptick on score...
