Pizza Review
They’ve been around for almost 15 years, serving traditional football pizza & other Italian fare to the South Jersey area just outside of Atlantic City. Thick, heavy, doughy & super soft, this pie has zero crisp & and lot of floppage. As thick as the dough is, it’s having a hard time supporting the massive amount of sauce & cheese. Not exactly my desired texture, but the taste is on-point. With a decently charred undercarriage, the dough is moderately tasty, just a bit too filling, particularly the big, pillowy, mega thick & soft crust. They wisely use Grande mozzarella & a lot of it. A top quality pizza cheese, it’s melty & delicious with a creamy consistency & oozy, gooey flow, just a tad too much for my liking. The sauce truly saves this pie from the lack of crisp. Sweet & hearty, bursting with fabulous flavor, it’s deliciously robust with chunks of tomato, decently seasoned along with a little kick; the sauce shines brightly & carries the pie. Overall, this is a classic battle of texture vs taste: soft & doughy vs delicious cheese & sauce, which I believe are good enough to overcome the crispless & crunchless dough. Pretty decent pizza for this area; you could do a lot worse than this South Jerz football pie on the outskirts of AC.
