Pizza Review
The Crunchy Thin Pizza is the headliner here. Super thin, like a larger version of a bar pie; however, surprisingly soft & floppy dough. The only thing crunchy about the pie is the crust, which is perfect, both in taste & texture, by far the best attribute of this style pizza. Because it’s such a thin pie, they go very light on the cheese and sauce, while maintaining a terrific cheese to sauce ratio. The only downside is the lack of flavor in both ingredients. The cheese is fairly standard, less well done than you’d find on most bar pie styles. The sauce is rather bland, definitely needs a little kick. Dave Portnoy helping this joint out is a wonderful story, involving fantastic people and good pizza, but it’s not worth a pilgrimage over 30 minutes. When it comes to larger bar pie style pizza, Pizza Land actually has the edge. This is very good but doesn’t crack into the 8s unless they spice up the sauce and crisp up the dough.
