Calda Pizzeria & Restaurant

Calda is my family’s pizza of choice but not mine. It’s been a local favorite around here for a while now but I never got on the hype train. My experience today started with my pizza taking 15 minutes to be ready. The guy at the counter gave me a small slice so he gave me an extra one free of charge to make up for the smallness, which I very much appreciated it. Despite all that, I’m still just not a fan of this slice. The undercarriage is a bit doughy, it lacks a nice crunch, and I don’t like how the top of the slice is all sauce and no cheese. The sauce isn’t that great here so having the end be just that is not good for me. Calda is also half restaurant though. And their restaurant menu is fantastic. I think they make the best penne alla vodka I’ve ever had. Perhaps someday I oughta try a penne alla vodka slice from them. But for now, I think I’ll get my pizza somewhere else.

Regular 6.1 very greasy . Crust had soft spots Sicilian 5.1 the dough by itself was good. Crispy on bottom with an airy middle and a little chew on top. Text book Sicilian in my book. What brought it down was the sauce . It was atrocious. Left a bad aftertaste as well that just would not go away. It even woke me up hours later

Not sure what happened here...but def not a good Sicilian slice. One of the most dense slices ive ever had, but not in a good way. Pizza is well done, but still manages to have next to 0 crunch. The sauce is extremely salty too. The bbq chicken slice was solid, but the Sicilian bombed bad

This is a border-line NY slice. Nothing to write home about. It’s not baked well and the sauce is bland.

Never had a plain slice here before. It was really good! One of the best I’ve had in a long time. Slight crisp, tangy sauce, perfect amount of cheese.

Crust was decent. A lot of grease and very sloppy

Don’t microwave the fucking pizza
