Capri Pizzeria and Bar

So this app is terrible and froze my pizza review count. Good thing I have an album on my phone where I keep track myself. This is pizza review 269, and my first in Bakery Square. This isn’t Capri, it is Alta Via Pizzeria. This pizza was good, but there were some things that could certainly be improved. The pizza was surprisingly doughy and didn’t provide any good texture when I was eating it. The sauce and the cheese were both pretty good, it was just a little on the salty side. I’m a big fan of basil on top of pizza, but the basil that was on it didn’t taste super fresh. Usually when I eat an entire pizza the score is automatically in the 8s, however this time I can attribute eating the whole thing for how hungry I was, not how good the pizza was.

In the spirit of corona, I ordered this pie this evening thru delivery. This is the closest to bar pie you’re gonna get in Pittsburgh. I can’t imagine what this would be like if I ate this at the place, fresh. Crust was flaky and thin. Pizza itself was very high quality. Cheese blend tasty and not overwhelming. Sauce dominated the scene, some of the best homemade tomato sauce I’ve had. Sauce was far superior to anything I’ve had in a while. Will have to go to the place and try this out in person, I expect even better things. Almost a perfect slice of pizza, and sat well in the stomach, love it
