Oh wow.

Great pizza. A lot of different pie styles on the menu. This is the regular but I definitely felt this could pass as a New Haven Style that’s on the menu. Thicker crust on a pie that was made well done. A little soupy in the middle but didn’t take too much away for me. Great vibe in the shop. Ate outside on some old school folding chairs and a tv tray. Definitely worth a trip. Would recommend ordering ahead since it’s not a sit down restaurant.

New Haven Style: Wonderful crisp throughout the entire pie. Tangy red sauce rounds out the tasty mozz. Cooked to perfection. Gotta time your order right. Eat asap for maximum crisp. The flavor of the dough is phenomenal and does not leave you feeling bloated. Could crush a whole pie. Personally this is the best in North NJ

Pre-concert pie…drove in from Upstate NY (Newport) for Zack Bryan concern…pie was awesome! Crisp, light, super tasty sauce! Ate out on the sidewalk seating…couldn’t be more pleased! Love the retro decor.

Pizza was a soupy mess. The first bite was a soggy flop. After the 1st bite the crust was really good but the cheese and sauce tasted like mush. Definitely not worth $22

Crunchy Tomato Pie. Trenton Style. Holds up well with a good balanced ratio. I’d like to try another style.

From Sept 2024: So hard to find Trenton Style Tomato Pies in North Jersey. This one is excellent. Casano’s in Rutherford is the new kid in town, and worthy of the buzz.

We love this place! Some of the absolute best pizza in New Jersey by far. Dave must’ve been on crack the day he came. Great ingredients, great old-school pizza shop vibe, amazing attention to detail… Plus everything they make is awesome not just the pizza. Lastly, what sealed the deal for me was… I showed up with my family in a torrential rain and the owner set up a table just for us in the middle of the pizza shop so we could sit and eat without getting drenched

IG review from August. You ever wish you’d get one more conversation with a loved one, friend or pizza before they past? Sunday I had the privilege of spending my afternoon with the pizza legend himself Skinny Pizza Guy and got to have that moment at his new spot Casano’s in Rutherford NJ. I really have to put this guy over as one of the best there is too for putting up with me most of the day and being the most hospitable human on this spinning rock. Tavolinos was an NJ pizza icon that featured one of the best specialty pies in existence the smoky roni but closed their doors about two years ago. Fast forward to this summer and he’s back with a new spot that has all the vibes of a spot that’s been here for decades. But on to the pizza cuz what are we here for, featured front and center is the New Haven style that honestly is more at home on Wooster than some that currently occupy it but on a way more elevated level. The thin charred crust feels like it came out of a coal oven but is super airy and aged to perfection like a fine wine or cougar next door. Like most NH styles the sauce shines as it’s a bit more abundant than the cheese but has that “it” factor with every bite aided by the lifestyle topping of choice.(roni cups) For shoot this is one of the best pizzas I’ve ever sank my teeth into yet was overshadowed by the legend herself, the smoky roni. The square pie features a unique tomato sauce with a bit of a kick combined with the healthy amount of cup n char for the signature flavor and I’m swooning, there really is nothing like it out there. This is really one of the best spots you can go to on the East Coast right now and it’s to no one’s surprise when you know who’s behind the counter. One of the most memorable pizzadventures of all time!!!

Got the New Haven with half roni! Perfectly cooked, great crisp, no flop a delicious crust! Sauce is excellent not sweet, nor is it too tangy it’s just a nice balanced sauce. Quality cheese but just a little too much for my liking,( for my self I would next time ask for light on the cheese). Overall an excellent pie, will be coming back for sure!

This is the stracciatella, but their round, their New Haven style, one after the other after the other, this dude slings possibly the best pies in the state besides my buddy Al Santillo. Literally, it’s amazing, trust me. If you are a man of the pizza, it’s well worth the trip. Literally try every one, quality, craftsmanship every single time!

I’ve been saving this in the back pocket since December until it hit the app. This was the non soupy NY style plain. Fantastic! The decore and friendliness makes this one of the bests in the state.

This pizza is so good. Got the Trenton Tomato Pie. Pure crisp.
