Pretty Good overall pizza, great sauce, good cheese, decent crust

Different but good. Similar to Santuccis but half the price

One of the best pizzas if not thee best pizza in the city. The sauce is delicious, the cheese is subtly unique, and the crisp is perfect. The combination of a crispy, yet doughy undercarriage along with a one-of-a-kind addictive sauce puts Charlie’s in a league of its own.

Well, this place is very old school place inside including the 80 yr old counter woman. Very light pie. While on the thinner side with zero flop, zero grease there was also zero crisp. The only thing this pie was missing for me was crisp. The sauce has a delicious flavor with a hint of peppers mixed in. Had some spice to it also make sure you have a big drink. Pie was kind of doughy but so light that it was very good. If this had some crisp it would be in the 9’s

With the service and people around it’s in the 9s. Feel like fucking family guy was awesome. Pizza cooked perfect and how I like it went thin cooked well. Crust is the stand out tastes great sauce very garlicky a plus and tasty fresh cheese. This place fucks and is true old school. This pizza isn’t my style and I fucking loved it so I see why there’s a lot higher scores if it tickles your pickle.

Doesn’t get any better than this

Any best of Philly Pizza list would be incomplete without listing Charlie’s. While the cheese and dough are excellent, it’s the flavorful Sauce that sets Charlie’s apart from other pizza joints. Plus, the dining room of provides the perfect old school ambience to make any trip there a great sit down dining experience

Tremendous sauce, one of the best crusts i’ve had. Slightly bland

This pizza is very legit. Good crisp, dough is great, but I just keep coming back to the sauce. It’s what makes it. Fantastic pizza, best I’ve had in Philly area. Also, the place is so Philly, I’d give it a 10 for the experience alone.

Dave skipped this place when he was in Philly last but it needs to be on any pizza lovers list of places to bet good pizza. Family run going on 70 years. Don’t go for the decor but go for great pizza. Get it thin if you like it crisp.

You may be thinking to yourself, “Ah this kid giving a 9.4 hasn’t had enough pizza in his life so there is no way this place hits 9.4.” You couldn’t be more incorrect, I have been a pizza king to the likes of the Pizza King El Pres since a young age, always revisiting this place any chance I get. It’s a 9.4, trust me. El Pres needs to visit and review here, but bring some security.

Excellent pizza. Lived up to the hype. First reaction was that it was a very clean pie, hot and fresh out of the oven, with no grease or flop. Great sweet sauce with perhaps a garlic undertone. Outstanding crisp and crust.

A lot of hype surrounding this place. I’ve even had it recommended to me from people as far away as the Jersey shore. Very old school place. Cash only. No slices. I went with a mini pie. 6 bucks plus tax. Let me start by saying that this is a sauce on top style pizza which is something I’m not usually crazy about. The cheese stood out to me as Star ingredient. Very fresh and chewy. The sauce ok. The crust was also just ok. All in all it’s a good pizza but unfortunately it did not even come close to living up to the hype for me. I will say again for the record that this style is typically not my favorite.
