Pizza Review
Good slice. I always judge on plain slices. But I ordered one and they only had pepperoni. They gave me *two* of those for the price of one. That's good peoples. So I looked on Google and the pies look good at Chicky's. That's what you should come to get or something else featured on the menu. On to the slice. Listen, for something that was probably sitting out especially…this was good. Definitely a low moisture mozzerella heavy slice. It's right on the edge or being too much for the crust. But the crust held up. I'll ignore the pepperoni. I will say though it's thin cut, cup and charred. That's good quality. The crust was well baked, not aerated more toasty/crunchy but with moderate chew. I like that. I hate when you get to the cornicione and it’s like a breadstick or heavy to chew and flavorless. Sauce is a thicker, pastier type. A lot of tomato, umami flavor. I didn't fell it was garlicky or herbaceous. But that's fine. My main criticism is that I felt it could use salt. Like even with the pepperoni on top, the slice didn't have that salty, savoriness I expect, especially on a pepporini slice. All in, I agree with the last reviewer—who's prolific on this app in his own right—I'd like to try a fresh pie, particular their margarita. This place could easily get in the high 7s or low 8s with minor tweaks.
