Pizza Review
Colianno’s is a long established Italian restaurant in Bullhead City. Before I get to the pizza review, I have to say on my first visit I loved this place. First off it is the An old school Italian joint. It looks like you are in New York. It has the right music going. It looks mobbed up!! The staff is great. Very cute waitresses and a bartender working their rears off and staying friendly. I have no idea how the pasta is but I will definitely find out very soon. I ordered my stand by peppers and pepperoni pizza. I had high hopes as I think they have a real oven and not an assembly line. The first thing I noticed was that this is a pretty heavy pizza. When I opened the box I could see it was not thin crust nor Chicago style but what I call American crust. Too thick for me but I have learned to live with it. The pizza had plenty of toppings and abundant cheese. It was not greasy at all which is hard to do with pepperoni as a topping. The pizza looked a little undercooked. On my first and only bite (except for the other bites) it confirmed that the crust was slightly doughy. Not terrible but not really crispy and very heavy. The quality of everything was there but it needed more time in the oven. It would have made the whole thing so much better. The sauce was very good and there was lots of it. That is ok but this causes the cheese and topping to slide a little. Taste was good and might even be great if it cooked longer. Still I must score what I got’. Leave it in the over maybe 3 more minute and they get another half point. Come up with a true thin crust and they get a full point more! With that said, still the best pizza yet in the Tri-city area. 6.8 and that’s a review!
