Conte’s Pizza and Bar

Pretty disappointing for a place with so much hype. Thin with no crisp, solid sauce but cheap cheese. The homemade sausage was great but weighed the pizza down into a floppy and sloppy mess. Too many juggernauts in the pizza capital of the world to waste your time here.

Being from Boston area it hurts me to say this but this is easily the best pizza I’ve had. Rivals Regina’s in Boston but I liked this better.

Holds up to the hype for me, it's as good I've had recently. Very good dough texture, only average dough taste. Getting a partial topping was a positive move in increasing flavor. Cheese was good, maybe not next level. Great old school vibe, and the bartender was exactly who you would expect working there.

I have to say, this is by far some of the best pizza I have ever had. Nice charred, cracker-like undercarriage and crust - which is crispy and airy, sauce was tangy and a bit rustic at the same time, and the pepperonis are nice and thick and are the curl up kind if that’s what you like (I do). Lots of cheese, so cheese only pizza wasn’t my dig. Place is old school and has an open kitchen concept. Nice place.

Thin, crisp cracker-like crust. Thick cup & char pepperoni is an excellent choice. Sauce is great, the crust could use a little more complexity or salt. My fiancé compared the crust to matzah, which I thought was apt.

This is the best pizza I’ve had. Is this .6 points better than King Umbertos in Elmont? Yes. Amazing crispy crust while not being too well done. Great flavors in the sauce and cheese. Doesn’t need red pepper, parm, or anything else. I live over an hour away and will definitely come back any chance I get.

Unpopular opinion: This pizza is not as amazing (to me) as the hype suggests. floppy slices with cheese and sauce on par with most basic pizza joints. The crust was nice and crisp though.

Vibrant sauce, great flavor right out of the oven. The pep/olive slices started getting soggy and floppy from the pepperoni oil aside from just the steam, but great flavors all around. For such a high score coming in I was expecting the crust to have some tang and while it didn't have much, it was crisp and I was happy to enjoy another slice

Minority view: Pie was underwhelming. Crust was kinda boring and cheese overwhelmed the tasty sauce

Not a bad pie, just overrated. Similar to most typical NYC pies. Has flop and is cheese forward.

Good cheese and sauce but it was a lava pool in the middle. The middle wasn’t as crispy as I would have liked, got a pepperoni and that was crispier. Good slice would come again.

Heavy flop but not much grease. Flowery bottom which is a little weird, would like a crisp to the bottom but overall not too bad.

Very good pizza. Got this with extra sauce and 1/2 peps. Solid.

Portnoy is out of his mind with an 8.9. Sauce lacked flavor, cheese was oily, too much flour on the crust, dry oregano on top 🤢. Good crisp and ok flavor. If you want a highly ranked pizza that’s worthy of its score, get Delucia’s.
