Fabulous undercarriage, impeccable sauce, cheese isn’t strong enough

I feel bad about this one. I can recognize the quality here and I can see why everyone is scoring it so high but it just didn’t do it for me. I’ve been scoring these all based on how much I liked them and I really struggled with going higher on this one but I have to be honest with what speaks to me personally. I think it was mostly the sauce that I found distracting. And it’s not a cheap trash sauce. It actually tastes very fresh with an earthy, vegetable, basil flavor to it but I guess I just like a sweeter sauce and this just wasn’t for me. Everything else about this was pretty darn good but I just was not loving this sauce and I was turned off from trying a second slice. But that’s me. Most people will love it, though. My wife loved it. You probably will too. Enjoy!

We tried a few different slices at Cowabunga and overall really enjoyed it. The cheese slice, while clearly made with award-winning ingredients, just isn’t our go-to style. It was good, but we usually prefer something with a bit more going on. That said, the jalapeño dip was very good and definitely worth adding to your order. We’d give Cowabunga an 8.7 out of 10. Super solid pizza, great quality, and a fun stop if you’re already in town. That said, we probably wouldn’t make the trip from Toronto just for this. It’s more of a “worth it if you’re nearby” kind of spot.
