Pizza Review
I visited Dani’s a couple of months back and got a pesto slice with sauce and a regular slice. Considering all the hype this place gets I figured I’d head back because I did want to give them another shot since I was not all that impressed the first time. It wasn’t very crisp that time, a good amount of flop on the slices and the sweet sauce was way too sweet. So, I got their popular pesto slices again and I will say the underside was done much better this time. No flop, good crispness and very hot out of the oven. Unfortunately I must say the sweet sauce is again just too sweet for my liking, it has some good flavors overall but topping the pesto slice with it is just too overpowering for me, the sauce was all I could taste. The regular pesto slice without sauce was better, it had a good crispness and the back crust had a nice crunch with a little airiness in the bite. The mozzarella was a pretty standard profile, you do get some fresh bright flavors from the pesto though, strong basil overtones obviously. The dough by itself didn’t have much flavor, rather bland but overall it’s a good solid slice.
