Pizza Review
As soon as we pulled up here, I could see a large group of people waiting to be seated near the door. Which is slightly annoying when you're on a pizza trip and plan on going to as many places as possible, it's also a very good sign! Delorenzo's is probably the most famous of all the tomato pie spots and for good reason! It's been around for over 70 years but our waiter said this location actually opened in 2007. Very nice modern interior with a large dining area which would be hard to fill if they didn't have such dedicated customers. The pizza itself is a thin crust without a lot of chew and is relatively firm, but has a legit 10/10 crisp! They use crushed tomatoes and they are large chunks of it throughout the pizza which I enjoy but I could see some people seeing as a turnoff. I got my usual half pepperoni half cheese and the pepperoni was unique as well. As it was small in diameter hand cut pepperonis that were much thicker than the ones that typically come on a pizza. This gave the pepperoni side a much stronger pepperoni flavor then most. Our waiter actually had mentioned that while they were happy with Dave's review they actually wanted him to come back and do it again, as his pizza had been sitting on the counter over a half hour when he arrived. Are we our waiter and said that the general opinion amongst staff was that he would go at least a couple points higher if it were fresh!
