DeLorenzo's Pizza

Alright Delorenzos in Hamilton NJ. There is the other one further down the road but I chose to eat at this one. It’s the same people. Both have been around since the 1930s. Not bad for Guniea Hicks, the pizza was good. Really good sauce, tight slices, lite pie, good crisp all that shit. I could see all the people living in the area saying “we have the best pizza in jersey, we have DeLorenzos” like cocky fucks. And I’ll be honest I typically think jersey pizza is overrated. Most of the bar pie places that PorkBoy likes, most of those pies taste like a ritz cracker with some Heinz. But not Delo’s. This gives me hope for the other places around NJ. So if ya in the area visiting some Italiano who hunts qual, instead of eating meat from his freezer that is gonna take 2 weeks to defrost, tell him fuck that and go to Delorenzos.

Ok pizza, crust a little dry and crunchy, sauce lacking in flavour. But it was ok. Forgot to take photo of the tomato pie before it was all gone 🍕

Meant to go to the one in Robbinsville right down the road, but this place has some good pizza. Been there since 1938, so not surprised. There was zero flop, but nothing really stood out about the sauce, cheese, or dough. It wasn’t bad, but it didn’t have much distinction to get it to the 8s. 7.5 very fair score imo

The DeLo clan sure knows how to make great Tomato Pies, right? The crew at this Hamilton location (owned and run by a different family branch than the Robbinsville spot) cooked up a top shelf specimen for review #350. Crust: crispy yet tender. Sauce: sweet, clean and plentiful. Cheese: plays its supporting role to perfection. Delo delivers delicious!

Very Good Great sauce and crust. Traditional tomato pie is Amazing

Delicious and zero flop! The crispiest crust there is, but not burnt! Sauce is sweet and the cheese is ample but not so overdone. A very good NJ slice!

We ordered a large pie half mushroom half sausage and a small eggplant and ricotta pie. Good crisp crust, no flop, more cheese than other tomato pies but very good, sauce is good, mellow, not sweet. Mushrooms were fresh, and the sausage was lump which is my preference. Eggplant pie was under seasoned, needed something, salt, red pepper? All in all the pies are very good, service is underwhelming.

Sauce is very flavorful

This place has a killer reputation. I’m baffled. Dough- void of crisp and tasteless. It’s below average. Sauce- it’s ok at best. It’s a little unusual. I can’t figure it out. Certainly not sweet but whatever spices they put in the sauce are whacked out. Cheese- does the pie no favors. No meaningful taste I can identify. Overall taste- weird. It’s just down right odd. Doesn’t taste like Trenton tomato pie or pizza. Has its own unique and not very good world it comes from. Execution- below average. Not only is it undercooked, when you bring all the ingredients together, the horrifically soft dough coupled with the strange taste is a lousy experience. John Lennon said, “Give pizz a chance.” If you are considering this due to the reputation find something else. There’s no scenario where this is good.

Oftentimes hype is not lived up to. This place has a lot of hype behind it and it did not disappoint.

At first bite you understand why this is one of the best in the world. This Dellrenzos crust isn’t overdone like the Delorenzos in Robbinsville. This crust has flavor that you can enjoy even though there is minimal flop. The savory and delicious sauce is spread evenly and topped with a good amount of tasty cheese.
