Detroit Frankie's Wood Fired Brick Oven

So this is no longer “Detroit Frankie’s” now it is “Slice by Saddleback.” Good thin, Neapolitan style. Lots of parm, floppy. Decent pie.

Enjoyed some of Frankie’s pizza in Rogers City a few weeks ago. It’s a family run operation and they take a lot of pride in what they do. I asked Frankie a few questions about one of his pizzas, and he dove right in and made one for us to try-no charge. Really nice guy.

Probably the best pizza in Lansing

Very solid pie. A style you don’t find very often where I am from so it was a good change. Wish the sauce had a little more flavor, but the char makes up for it. Definitely worth stopping by if you are around Lansing/ Grand Ledge.

Really good undercarriage. Almost no flop tonight. Deceptively light as described by Dave.. I'd hit it again!

Dave was spot on. This place is a toppings pizza joints. The cheese was 7.5, but the supreme half was closer to the 7.9 rating. Good under carriage and crisp.

This is my all time favorite pizza. Not a thing about this pizza I don’t like. Crust is perfect crisp. Cheese is to die for and the pepperonis are amazing. I have had sausage before too and that was good as well. Has the perfect amount of greece too. Rate it a 9.5 cuz you know as El Presidente says there is no perfect 10.

In a city that doesn't have much going on in the pizza department, Detroit Frankie's is ahead of the game by a country mile. Good char on the undercarriage and decent tang on the sauce. Close to an 8, but just had a little too much flop to justify it. Either way, it's a solid pie and if you're looking for the best pie in Lansing, don't waste your time looking around. This is it, Frankie. Just a solid fastball right down the pipe.

Hard to argue with El Presidente, worth the drive across town

Wood oven pizza is where it's at. Very good, little more flop then I was expecting, but very, very good.

I’ve been a fan of Detroit Frankie’s since he was outside of Ozone Brewery on Turner street. This is their southwestern, with black beans, peppers and roasted corn, out of this world, if you’re in the mood for something non traditional, this is the way to go. Haven’t had cheese only yet, but the classic pepperoni pizza is a strong 8.4!

Pepperoni, ham, sausage, onion, & mushrooms. Delicious pizza we will come back again. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for good pizza. The owner was super nice and came out from behind the counter to speak with us.

I tried this place thanks to Dave's review. I thought it was amazing. Very little flop, nice char on the crust, light and fluffy. Can't beat $15 for a large cheese for a quality pizza. This is our new favorite pizza place. Be prepared, had a 1.5 hour wait for carryout on a random Tuesday

Nice flop, perfectly cooked, awesome crispy pepperonis!

Nice wood-fired flavor throughout the crust. Quality ingredients. Hands down, one of the better pizzas I’ve ever had.

Good pizza, but I left in box too long so couldn’t take advantage of crisp crust.

Had to high of expectations. Not a bad pizza, but nothing seems to jump out at you.
