Diamond Slice

I’ve been coming here for almost a year now and this pizza is elite level pizza. The mushroom slice is fantastic and well balanced. One of the stars is the Caesar Salad slice. Unlike many places that just plop it on as an afterthought, Diamond Slice’s is well crafted and very tasty with the umami giving it a very good flavor profile. I can say this is one of the elite pizzerias in Brooklyn and perhaps all the five boroughs. Definitely make this a part of your pizza pilgrimage in NYC.

Extremely thin slice. Crisp with edges a little burnt, which I like. Shaved parm all over it which is a nice touch.

First time trying diamond slice and already one of my favorite places in NYC!

Sorry for the not so great photo, but I didn’t want to waste time getting to this pizza. Ordered the full pie, made fresh, which I kinda regret. It was only in the box for a few moments and the undercarriage lost it’s crisp. Obviously still a very high score was given because of the taste. Very well seasoned sauce, generous amount of cheese, outer crust was perfectly crispy and chewy. A solid alternative to it’s down the block rival Chrissy’s, however for my preference, Chrissy’s has a slight edge. This place also does slices for those of you who aren’t a savage like myself. I would say Diamond Slice is a must try for any pizza enthusiasts.

I was on the way to Chrissy’s when I realized it’s full pies only. Bad play on my part. Luckily, Diamond Slice was getting some stellar reviews lately so I checked it out. Worth the move. Crust is excellent, crispy, I think they put corn meal on the bottom to give it some extra crunch and the ratio between sauce cheese and dough is great. Sauce little tangy little sweet. Buffalo chicken and Caesar specialties pies are very good. Tastes like homemade ranch which I loved. Regular cheese is almost pushing an 8. Solid pizzeria that I think will start gaining more traction soon. Best slice shop in Greenpoint.

Got back in March… I thought I was just getting the place people get when the line at Chrissy’s is too long… but wow this place is amazing in their own right. Not sure I’d be able to blind taste and tell the difference. Crispy, little burnt, balanced ingredients, just all around great wheel. If I’m being picky, I could use a little more sauce and a little puffier inner crust to complement the outer crunch.
