Pizza Review
Northboro has always been a vast wasteland for good Italian style pizza. Vina’s crust is too chewy and even cardboardish at times and Sammy’s has a great crust but the sauce is bland and tomato-pasty. Linguini’s is a boring 6.9. We tried DIF’s over next to The Westender tonight. Very interesting menu. They have pizza, wings, Caribbean pate meat pies, French fries, and Caribbean style Johnny cakes. That’s it! I love places with small menus. We got a bunch of stuff, but let’s start with the plain cheese pizza. One bite, everybody knows the rules. Super thin and crispy crust. Nice low-level char on the edges and bottom. Fantastic crust. The sauce is very fresh tasting, yet not as interesting as I prefer but I like it a lot. No grease. Good quality cheese. This is instantly my new favorite pizza in the area. Solid 8.3. Worth driving to. Bonus chicken wings review: they have plain, sweet island, spicy island, and buffalo. All were amazing. Favorite was the sweet island. Like sweet Jamaican jerk with a bit of heat. I give the wings an 8.5. Bonus meat pate pie review: Thank you sweet baby Jesus for introducing me to these things. We got the beef, spicy beef, and spicy chicken lite (lite means white meat chicken). All were fantastic, but we all strongly preferred the beef and spicy beef. My favorite by a mile was the spicy beef. It’s incredible. 8.7. Go here now.
