Pizza Review
I'll probably get berated for this one to all the Dimo's loyalists, but hear me out. I am a traditionalist when it comes to pizza; pepperoni and sausage. This is one of those places that you go to get something weird and crazy with 3+ toppings that crosses food genres to make a rough representation of pizza, but just the shape of triangles. Depending on how drunk you are, this could be your safe haven. Don't get me wrong, drunk food is necessary, but still couldn't really enjoy this after being both drunk and sober. The pizza crust itself sways more toward NY style, very flimsy, thin, and not crispy. It is made for folding and shoving as many slices down your throat that your late night munchies appetite will allow... and more. Pricing is $4.00 per slice, which is very reasonably priced. I had a mac n cheese (fan favorite) and a sausage slice for dinner (sober). The mac n cheese slice had a lot of crust and not that much of the toppings itself. Nothing really stood out to me. The cheddar cheese was bland and didn't add any creamy element to substitute for traditional sauce. The sausage slice had decently flavored sauce, but was overshadowed by the saltiness of the rest of the ingredients. Will I go back? Not voluntarily, but it was edible and didn't make me sick. If you're into adventurous mixed cuisines, this may be your place! Check them out next time you're leaving the bars, or going to a Cubs game! Update: Stopped in and got a pepperoni slice. It was much better than my previous visit. I highly recommend going with the classics if they are fresh. Otherwise, order one of the crazy recipes without thinking of it as "pizza".
