Donatos Pizza

I mean- this was basic pizza. Very saucy. Needed the garlic dip for some flavor. We only ordered, bc my 11 year old step daughter thinks that she needs Gluten Free. She liked her pizza. We had the hand tossed. With the 2 pizzas and 15 bone in wings, an $8 discount coupon and $5 tip, it was still $65 for delivery. That’s outrageous to me. Won’t be ordering again based on mediocrity of the food. If it was worth $65, I wouldn’t even bring up the price. This just solidifies the reason I prefer local pizza shops. Delivery was fast, driver was pleasant. I just don’t think it’s good.

This might be the most expensive chain pizza I’ve had. A 14 inch one topping pizza at $20 has a lot to live up to but this one sadly did not. I’ve had Donatos many times at work parties but it’s always been the thin crust pizza cut into squares and I’ve never enjoyed it (but still ate a lot of it because it’s pizza). I decided to try the hand-tossed option and it is better but still painfully average. The crust had the consistency of a frozen pizza, the sauce was pretty sweet, the cheese had an interesting smoky flavor to it, but there wasn’t enough of it, and the pepperoni was…fine, I guess. Not much to say about it. It’s as middle of the road as you can get so this gets a 5.0 but deducting a point because of how expensive it was and how hungry I still found myself after eating the whole thing. Not worth it at all.
