Ok Detroit style. Not my style, but nothing blatantly wrong with it

This is a review for the new Westport CT location (not on the app, like many new spots that have opened in the last 2 years). Anyway amazing sandwiches and burgers, 9s for sure. The pizza is about as good as I could give for Detroit. Flavorful sauce and fluffy dough. Just to heavy of a style for me to go for often

Excited for Emmy’s is an understatement. In full transparency I ate at their Park Slope location which I couldn’t find on the app. So Emmy’s has been very high on my list of pizzerias to try. Overall a very underwhelming experience for my first Detroit style slice, I had the MVP it was ok nothing great. I think my expectations were too high. I would come back to try their famous burger but too many good pizzerias out here for me to rush back to Emmy’s. I prefer a regular NYC sicialian to a Detroit slice any day of the week.

Doughy and delicious.

Been here a few times, but judging it based on this experience and it’s a 7.2. Crust was light, fluffy, with crisp around the edges and tasted great. Flavors were good as usual but the pie was a hot mess in terms of structure - one side had the perfect amount and good ratio of cheese / sauce while the other was too cheesy and lacking toppings. Still good though but would recommend dining in based on this takeout experience

Amazing Detroit style pie here crispy airy crust super light with that cheesy garlic bread taste. Speaking of garlic the sauce is rich and full of it with the grated cheese on top. Then there’s the fresh mozz melted ontop of the crust that has perfect pull and texture. All in all this pie is bursting with flavor and is among the best of the Detroit styles. Place is also awesome great vibes and price pretty good too.

Really nice Detroit Style Pizza. This is a margherita with burrata and pecorino. It’s very good, but I would actually gone higher if there was less pecorino. The overload of pecorino made some bites too salty which took away from the pie.

Frozen goldbelly version. Really like the sauce alot. Has a sweetness to it. Crust is good too. Solid Detroit style but needs more sauce I think to put it higher. I tried the colony also which was even better than the plain cheese.

MVP pie! REALLY GOOD but basically is a personal pie 8.8 for taste though!

Great Detroit-style pie, one of the better squares I’ve had. While Spumoni Gardens is the king of Sicilians, I prefer this style, as it’s less bready and more crispy than a Sicilian slice. The best comps for me are Prince Street Pizza and Mama’s Too - this combines the best aspects of both of those squares while fixing my least favorite attributes (far less greasy/messy than Prince Street, far less sweet on the caramelized cheese than Mama’s). I wish they offered slices, but I feel like serving pies only allows for better quality control, so I appreciate that a lot.

Great Detroit style. An airy Sicilian with phenomal crust.
