Empire Pizza

There seems to be some confusion about the name of this joint: Empire Pizza on the OneBite App but it’s actually Pizza Empire. Regardless, this spot is open very late and is total desperation/drunk pizza. This is New Haven’s version of a dollar slice but they have the nerve to charge $16+ per pie. The sauce is Acid Reflux City, tangy & biting, stings the throat on the way down and probably up. The cheese is generic, standard, typical pizza cheese. The only thing this pie has going for itself is it’s surprisingly thin and crispy with zero flop. The crust is actually terrifically crunchy but lacks taste, mainly because this is flavorless dollar slice dough disguised as a thin & crispy pie. Quite simply, this pizza is drunk 7s, sober 6s. Bottom of the barrel pizza when all of the great New Haven joints are closed.
