Escape From New York Pizza

I’ve been coming here for 30 years and it’s still just as good as always!!

Decent pie with pretty good crisp and decent flavor but very greasy. You won't be disappointed if you come here but probably won't be blown away by it either.

For PDX pizza

Floppy slice, decent sauce but it was a mess. Greasy, even for being a new York style. I wanted to like it but it just didn’t do it for me. The crust had a good bite but it was bland.

Best pizza I’ve had in Portland. Needs more sauce! But good!

Tasty, filling, good but not great. I ordered a slice of pepperoni pizza after witnessing a phenomenal comeback by LeBron and his Lakers squad vs the Trail Blazers. Looks like tonight wasn't Dame Time... The pizza was not very fresh as it was late on a Sunday night, though the reheat did it a solid. The service was very friendly. The community score accurately reflects the state of this pizza as well as the Pizzeria itself. Would come back again 🙂

Crust is nice and crisp but could maybe be thinner. Sauce is a little bland but overall not bad at all.

$5 a slice is crazy for this place. At least the slices are consistently big. Crazy flop. Super doughy. Slightly too much crust. Unremarkable flavor. There are literally 3-4 better pizza spots within 0.5-1.0 mile of this shop.

Good pie not great. Crust wasn’t as thin as I like but was crispy. Sauce wasn’t special. Good place to grab a quick slice if you’re in town. Cool, old school vibe inside

With hopes of satisfying my pizza slice craving, I entered to an array of pies lined up with slices for my choosing.....in the spirit of One Bite I went straight for the cheese. Decent body on the crust, but laden with a pool of grease from use of a lower quality cheese. I was really hoping for more from this slice, but it did not deliver.....on to the next pizza spot.

Ok, so ordered again and it was much better than my previous experience. It was tasty for sure but the crust was a bit too heavy with flour on the bottom which gave it a subtle chalky feel and taste. The top was a bit too greasy......which is usually an indication of using a lower quality cheese. Overall though it was tasty and was able to give it a perfect fold. Sauce was acceptable. I would order again; they seem to be hit or miss. Ease up on the excess of flour on the bottom please.

Ass a good looking pie, Frankie. A little greasy, but that’s OK. Only real NY pizza in town and if it was in NY it would go toe-to-toe with all but the very best. But we aren’t in NY. Far from it. 30% of why I’m fat can be attributed to this classic joint.
