Best pizza in Chicago

Really delicious deep dish. Perfect ratio of cheese to toppings to crust. Held together nicely, and the crust had an excellent crisp.

One of the best I have every had. Perfect crust (thin) crispy and crunchy, toppings and cheese perfectly placed. Excellently baked pie.

Not particularly impressive

Got the thin (they do offer a crispy crust option but it has less dough) would’ve just liked the thin crust to be well done and crispy on the bottom

Huge fan of Chicago-style deep dish. This pie is ultra cheesy and the crust is crispy but not too crispy, soft in the middle. Sauce has the perfect flavor. Wait took a good bit but I’m not surprised because of how crowded it was. Fav pizza thus far.

So I’m definitely an east coast pizza guy but needed to go deep dish here and wasn’t disappointed. Very good flavor and crust plus the didn’t dump a pound of tomatoes on top of the pie. No complaints here...

This is their Chicago deep dish pizza. It tasted good with ranch otherwise lacked! Pizza sauce tasted like it was from a can.

Meh. Doughy, lacks crisp, sauce nothing to brag about

Great tavern style thin crust. Nice tangy sauce, perfect blend of cheese. Crust not as crispy as I recall from prior visits. Best thin crust on the Loop!

Exchequer has been on my radar for a while now. They seem to be known for their deep dish, which is different than most tradition Chicago style deep dish we all know and love. Anyway, I order both a thin crust (bottom) and deep dish (top). They may look very different, but I’m here to tell you l... they’re almost the same with the exception of a few details. The bottom crust is the exact same thickness on both. Chop off the rim of crust of the deep dish and you got their thin. The deep dish has double the cheese of the thin, and then the thin looked to be cooked slightly longer. With that said, I favored the thin crust. I was a smooth bottom, cooked well, but not really crunchy. I couldn’t figure it out but something was missing for me in the sauce that could’ve really taken this to the next level, although they do have a good amount of sauce. It is not a dry pizza. The deep dish was the same as described above with extra cheese. Cheese lovers, this is your jam. Overall, it was unique and different. I admire that they own the cheese on top deep dish as their thing. I have no complaints. Solid option.

Classic Chicago thin crust. Good sausage, crust, and cheese.
