My son and I visited after a youth hockey game with another father and son. We do not live in the area and made a special trip as we frequently visit highly rated Barstool Pizza review establishments. The restaurant is a traditional family restaurant with 100 year history according to the website. We specifically came for the thin crust pizza. It looked good and my son took the first slice. It was an endless string of cheese and very greasy. It tasted very bland, very floppy so much so I took a slice of sausage and all the cheese and sausage fell off on to another slice. Then the hour and fifteen drive home I had relentless indigestion. I must say David Portnoy of Barstool Sports clearly missed the mark or had a completely different pizza then we had. I have a relative who lives in Freehold and asked about the restaurant before visiting and they said the restaurant is overrated. If you are in the area may I suggest Brooklyn Square with 3 locations or Pete & Elda’s. That’s a review

A bit disappointed overall. Cheese and sauce are good, the pie is thin and crispy, but the cracker crust is bland, and the pie is a bit too greasy. I believe it’s a bit overrated.

Super thin, almost cracker like crust. Nice and crunchy yet still foldable and floppy at the tip. Small slices. Very good!

Very thin crispy crust with very little flop. Nicely charred edges. Cheese tasted great and excellent sauce to cheese ratio. Service was top notch too. Love this pizza.

I had the ‘12 personal pie. It was crisp and tasty. This place is a can’t miss if you’re looking for one of the better pizza places in NJ. (first time I put up a review but it’s not my first visit, and won’t be my last)

Stevie Slice here. Took a drive out on several recommendations. This is a true tavern pie with a cracker crust. Like Pete and Elda’s. The place is very cool and the pizza overall is super tasty and bold. The cracker crust holds up inside the restaurant. You could not travel with it . I can’t go higher than 8.1 but it stands in the 8’s as a unique and tasty pie .

I was waiting for the right chance to make the trip to Freehold and check out this well known place. Today I got that chance and jumped at it. Glad I did. This is the prototypical bar pie. Crust was awesome and pie had plenty of cheese and sauce. Not greasy! They obviously know what they are doing there as the pie was well cooked and all 8 pieces (yes of course I polished it off) retained the taste and great crunch to crust. I’m still looking for a bar pie to rival Stan’s Chitch’s (now sadly closed) and would rate Nancy’s Townhouse next best followed by Kinchley’s and Federici’s if anyone is interested. Solid pie and highly recommend. Good job!!

Rarely do I rereview a spot especially one as good as Federicis but seeming as I’ve grown over the years my early ones need some updating. Since 1946 this place has been making one of the best thin crust pizzas in the state and dates back over a century as a restaurant. The crust is flakey, pocketed and well done like all bar pies should be. The cheese melds with the small amount of sauce creating one of the best culinary flavors in the game with so much of an intense “bite” to it. This is a pizza with so much character it’s no wonder why the Boss himself said it was his favorite spot. It’s been years since I last had this pie and if anything it’s better than I remember, it takes me back to what pizza reviews are all about and my beginnings as this style was what I lived for before branching out into into other foodventures. This place is absolute top tier, legendary status pizza that has to be tried!!!
