Filippo's Pizza and Italian Food of Mahomet

Been wanting to hit this place in Central Illinois. Place was packed on a Wednesday night. I do like this place I really do. The cheese was very good and the sauce was pretty good with a slightly sweet taste. I’m just not a big fan of the crust. I do think overall this is a very good pizza. Just wish the crust wasn’t as thick like most Midwestern pizzas are.

This, their Margherita, is the pizza to get. Better than the basic cheese. Great family run business, great prices. 8.1, really really good stuff, great dinner spot.

Filippo's pizza is easily the best pie around, followed by Vinny's pizza. But those two are a totally different breed. It hit the spot as a sweet sauce lover and the crust is outstanding! So if you're a sweet sauce lover, then this is for you! Perfect thickness, not too thin either! Tastes a lot like Palermo's which I have reviewed before up in Oak Lawn, Illinois. I'd definitely give this two thumbs up and a recommendation!

I’ve been to Chicago, been to New York, been to Florida, been to Los Angeles, been to pizza joints all over the country. Not one can touch this pie. El Presidente needs to come to a U of I game and check this place out. Phenomenal pizza well worth driving off the beaten path for. Gotta respect the hell out of a business that doesn’t take credit card. Means they’re product is stands the rest of time and the owner doesn’t have to adapt to stay in business.
