Quality dough, quality cheese, quality sauce. QUALITY PEOPLE. Best pizza in Dayton hands down and that’s honestly saying a lot. My mother has been coming here since she was a child, she’s brought me here since I was a child and now as you can see I carry on that tradition. Watching them throw that dough up in the air is one of the best things ever. The very best traditional Brooklyn style pizza I’ve ever had anywhere in Ohio. Period. This is the pie that all others are compared to IMO. I fuckin love Flying pizza. *** Downton location is the best. The owners described the weight state location as “ you’ve got two grandmas and they both cook pretty good, but you know one of them cooks better” 😂

Really tasty slice. A little heavy, but still nice crisp, and not too overwhelming with the sauce and cheese.

I was first introduced to this pizza in 1993 as an eight year old boy. It was delicious and I loved how it tasted the same after reheating it the next day since I was not a fan of reheated pizza as a kid. 30 years later, Flying Pizza is still my all time favorite place. Very friendly and courteous staff. One of the few places in Dayton where you can get pizza by the slice. This is authentic New York style pizza. Crust is not too thin and not too thick with a crunch. Cheese has that fun stringy pull when you bite into it. Sauce is evenly distributed on the pizza and an ample amount of toppings to choose from. It’s a pizza that I take my time eating because I want to savor every bite before it’s gone. They say the perfect pizza doesn’t exist. I say, “Go to Flying Pizza.” The perfect pizza does exist!

I had it on a bike ride and couldn’t take a picture. It had good crisp and the sauce was really good. The only problem I had was it was reheated by the slice and it was almost $4 a slice.

Alright Frankie, not great. Deviated from the just cheese. Big mistake. Too thick, too doughy. Sort of bland too. Plus, $4.00 a slice! Only thing in Dayton that’s significantly more expensive than NYC.
