Fongs Pizza Ankeny

No longer Fongs, Girmaldi’s or something like that. Good crunch. Little flop.

This location is no longer Fongs pizza. It’s better, it’s Grimaldi’s! This 18 inch cheese was the greatest pizza I have had in Iowa. The under carriage was to die for. The cheese and sauce was great and the crisp/crust is exactly how I expected a coal fire oven to produce. If your within 45 minutes of this location I would make the trip. You won’t find any better place in Iowa to get coal fired oven pizza.

The crab raggoon and eggroll pizza are house specialties and completely agree! They straight up hit harder than my step dad after a night of her drinking! Great crisp, a lot of quality toppings and really solid service to really send it home!

Originally skeptical. Chinese and Pizza doesn’t seem to mix. Nah, dude. This slaps. Crab Rangoon pizza on top, egg roll pizza on the bottom. Originally wasn’t a fan of the CR pizza because I couldn’t taste much through the wonton strips. Shook them off, much better. I wouldn’t say it’s the “best thing I’ve ever tasted” like the menu says, but it was good. Egg roll pizza was better in my opinion. Everything tasted just right in my mouth. Again, too many wonton strips but there was more toppings anyway so it just worked. Separately, I’d give CR pizza a 7.8 and I’d give egg roll a 8.8. I will say I don’t know if I’d make the trip again for this pizza, but I’m glad I came.
