This is Pepe's best pie. Why? Well it takes the Tomato Pie and adds basil and fresh mozzarella on top of the pecorino and naturally sweet tomatoes and oregano. I'm a flavor above every else guy. I know other people are crispiness/crunchiness above all guy, that's just one good factor to a pie for me. I just like it well done, a bit of char, and crispy enough to hold up. Sauce you a get medium chunky/pasty umami and naturally sweet sauce. One of the best I've had. I believe it's a Stanislas 7/11 and Crushed Tomatoes mix they Mill themselves. One of the best. I'm a fan of simmered sauces on pies too. But you don't need a seasoned or simmered sauce if you pick the right tomatoes. And Pepe's does here. Fresh mozzarella was good. Just wish there was a bit more, though the pecorino is perfect with it. It's a margherita though, you can't dock any big points for that. Pepe's doesn't make my top crust. But it fits perfect to their pies and is necessary. I do like light and air crusts the best. But I do like the small end crust. But this is a great pie. I think the only ones that will surpass it are the world class ones you can find in NYC from the oldest pizzerias, Di Fara's, or the "nice" pizza in Italy, and big cities around the world.

Crust is best ever. It needs to be dipped in something in bites with no cheese or sauce. Freshness jumps out. The overall preparation is beyond incredible. Drove four hours from Philly. Inappropriately kissed chef on the month and was banned .

Got the margarita pie, as well as the cheese pie. Was pretty good, sauce had a nice tang to it. Towards the top of Danbury Pizzerias.

OBEKTR: Small pie half cheese half meatball and garlic. Great char and charcoal flavor. A little loose on the top. Sauce and sharp flavor cheese are fantastic. A little tighter on the top and it might be in the 9s. That’s a review.

A pizza you travel for. Very unique sauce on the sweeter side. So many different flavors as you eat the pie. Clean slice, nice undercarriage.

Small cheese pizza, 11:45am on a Tuesday, $11.68 Pros: Sauce is fantastic and there's plenty of it. Combines with cheese and char oven taste to make for an all around high quality, very enjoyable pizza. Their well-used oven produces a terrific undercarriage char flavor. Cons: Sauce is a bit runny when very hot. With a few minutes to cool, it takes on a more enjoyable consistency. Lot of flop on this pizza because the it's anything but dry. Verdict: This is the best "fancy" pizza in Danbury. And by fancy, I mean it's not standard football pizza. Soft and chewy interior of pizza, crisp and crunchy on the outside. Crust has some burnt edges which taste great. You have to drive far out of town for a higher quality pie

👎 Compared to other reviews our pizza looked very undercooked. The thin slices were difficult to eat with such floppy, non-crisp crust. The sauce was also very bland. Very disappointing given all the stellar reviews!

Franklyn, this is some amazing pizza. Crispy but has an airy fluff to it, no flop, marinara is excellent as is the cheese. Only critique is it has a bit too much char. Otherwise this is an impeccable slice. That’s a review Frankie!!!!!

The best pizza I've had in the Danbury area. Sauce is delicious and the crust is always cooked perfect.

Have been here a few times and their tomato pie is excellent. Crispy but not heavy crust, fresh crushed tomatoes. Excellent!
