This is my 1st pizza in New Haven and it definitely didn't let me down. The crust was amazing! It was slightly chewing which I loved!!! Good sauce and great cheese. Love it!

Pizza was heavy and doughy yet still had great crunch and flavor on the crust. Sauce flavor was dulled out by the cheese. The parm and cheese on top made it for a super heavy and flavorful bite. Tapped out after 3 slices, super filling. 8.3/10

Alright! Here's a new pizza review that's finally happening!!! It's the original Frank Pepe's! And it's one of the oldest pizzerias ever, it opened 100 years ago! It's our first Connecticut pizza to try there, especially when it's New Haven style! It's known for the Tomato Pie pizzas, we tried half Tomato Pie with mozzarella, and half without mozzarella. And OMG, it's one of the best pizzas in New Haven! It's highly recommended, you gotta try this pizza place! Tomato Pie without Mozzarella: 9.7 Michael's rating: Tomato Pie with Mozzarella: 9.9! The tomato here yet again was better than the cheese, really solid and taste better when cold

Sauce is watery drive all the way from the city to eat this and it’s good but not a high 8. Better sauce could have gotten it above 8

Absolutely deserving of all the hype. We got 4 pies (tomato, margarita, pepperoni, and clam) and I can’t tell you which was best because every bite was better than the last. I don’t know what tomatoes they’re using but they must have an unreal San Marzano plug because the sauce is some of the best I’ve ever had. The clam pie was also arguably the best one I’ve ever had, but this review is based purely on the tomato pie. If you’re in New Haven or even just in the general area, this is an absolute must.

We had both the cheese, and a meatball/ricotta. Honestly, wasn’t blown away. The pizza was good, thought it wasn’t crispy enough, and there’s a place nearby by home in Charlotte, NC where I felt I could get equally good pizza. Not sure what the hype was about. It was good, it was not worth the hype.

Restaurant, ambience, vibes, staff were all great. Original tomato pie with mozzarella was just fine. A little bland but got better once you add parm and some salt. Wanted to love it bc it had everything going for it, but it was just alright.

Did a cheese and pepperoni as always for the test…. Delicious pizza. Crispy crunchy tangy delicious pizza!!!

So I can’t leave a 10 based on Dave’s scoring but this is the most amazing pizza I’ve ever eaten! Flew from San Diego to Boston and drove down to try this one and it was totally worth it!! 100% will be back!!
